Toyota Sets Date For Apparent 2019 Supra Return Reveal

The automotive world has been buzzing, because on March 6, 2018 Toyota is believed to be bringing back a legend. For a long time, people have talked about the Toyota Supra returning, and now an official reveal is coming, and we're been searching around for details to share what we know before the big release!

What is assumed to be the 2019 Toyota Supra, though the official name could be changed, but it's safe to say that from teasers Toyota is keeping the classic name in pace will be shown in full at the Geneva Motor Show as a race car concept vehicle. That means it's not headed for production right away, but certainly should be in the future. It's being made by Gazoo, which is Toyota's racing division in Japan, so you can probably expect some badging from that brand, plus there's an engine and platform technology sharing with BMW, which will help power the new 2019 Supra, as well.

As for when the vehicle is going to head to production? It's widely assumed that it happens later this year, or next year in 2019. The appearance is supposedly going to borrow a lot from the Toyota FT-1 concept, which was released in 2014, and there's belief that it could come with all-wheel drive and hybrid drivetrain options as some of the different available features.

It's something we're all looking forward to and here at Classic Toyota of Texoma we'll be sure to keep you updated on the new Supra's progress as it goes from the big reveal to showrooms like ours here in Denison, serving Plano, McKinney, and Gainesville, TX along with Durant, OK.
